The bike rental service "metropolradruhr" enables citizens of ten cities of the densely populated Ruhr region to leave their cars at home and accomplish their daily commute by bike. The images created in my project "Leuchtspuren" ("light tracks") visualize the routes taken. A line on the abstract city map connects the station at which a bike was rented to the station where it was left and glows in a color correlating to the time of day the trip took place.
